Subtitled ‘Vermont’s People and their Quilts as a Reflection of America’, this is one for those interested in American social history as revealed in the quilts of a particular region. It’s based on one of the many State Quilt Documentation Projects which have been undertaken and which provide a rich source of information for quilt scholars and quilt enthusiasts alike. Vermont was one of the first places in America where British settlers arrived in the 17th century so it has a long and fascinating history, much of which is illustrated in the history of its quilts and quiltmakers and is told in this book. There are extensive illustrations of quilts and of quiltmakers and photographs showing life in old Vermont.
