The Patchworks of Lucy Boston

When Diana Boston took on the challenge of preserving her mother-in-law’s patchworks, she also decided to produce this wonderful book. In a brief Introduction, she describes some aspects of Lucy Boston’s life and her interest and involvement with patchwork. The main part of this beautifully produced book, though, is devoted to Lucy unique patchworks, each of which is illustrated in full colour, with explanatory text for each one. There are also templates for readers who want to try their hand at reproducing some of Lucy’s designs. I go back time and time again to this book and never cease to be inspired by the sheer artistry which Lucy Boston brought to the humble craft of patchwork.
