Just recently, Redwork has been enjoying a great revival in interest and in particular in quilt-making. Incorporating embroidered panels in quilts is a time-honoured traditional technique so for anyone interested in both embroidery and quiltmaking this book will be a source of inspiration. Ten projects are offered, including quilts, wall-hangings and cushions, and templates are included. Only three embroidery stitches are needed, so even a beginner needn’t be daunted. The ‘shadow’ element comes in the form of designs for flowers, hearts and fruit, also romantic and sentimental ‘sayings’ and quotes.
